Orion was contracted for the refurbishment and upgrade of the Terminal 5 Facility in the Port of Seattle. The work involved the removal of a portion of the existing wharf, including selected supporting piling and the existing fender system. Additionally, the project included the installation of timber pinch pile and steel toe wall stabilization measures on the slope and driving new supporting waterside concrete piling and landside steel pipe piling.
The updated facility was topped with a new concrete marginal wharf face, including a new unit fender system and crane rail, as well as a landside crane beam parallel to the waterside. Orion also performed dredging along the berth and the construction of a new electrical substation with power and data distributed behind the wharf to secondary electrical service substations.
